
The project
Empower2Act project aims to promote a culture of human rights protection, encouraging students to advocate for human rights and become activists. The project fosters the engagement of teachers and students in the process of design and implementation of raise awareness campaigns addressing local issues concerning human rights, involving the local communities in the process. The project aims to encourage young students to take an active role in their communities, with regards to Human rights, while boosting their civic engagement. The project aims to promote Human rights education (HRE) for teachers and school students aged 14-17, and also to empower them to become advocates for human rights.


OBJECTIVE 1
Educate secondary school students on the importance of human rights and empower them to become human rights advocates.

OBJETIVE 2
Support teachers in using non-formal education tools to address human rights education.

OBJETIVE 3
Provide students with the skills and resources needed to identify and report human rights violations in their communities.

OBJECTIVE 4
Foster a sense of citizenship and responsibility among students to advocate for human rights at the local, national, and international levels.

OBJECTIVE 5
Empower students and connect them with community activities to raise awareness and encourage engagement in human rights activism.

Activity 1: Development of teaching materials and resources on human rights.
Activity 2: Testing resources with students to ensure effectiveness before release.
Activity 3: Organizing sessions and seminars with human rights experts.
Activity 4: Involving students in community projects, like awareness campaigns, to apply their knowledge.
Activity 5: Creating an online platform to share human rights content, including videos, presentations, and photo exhibit


OUR FIRST NEEWSLETTER
We welcome you to the first issue of the Empower2Act newsletter.

The consortium of five partners from Turkey, Spain, Slovakia, Portugal, and Norway, united by their commitment to promoting and protecting human rights, combines a variety of schools and organizations working within their national contexts to raise awareness about human rights and foster a culture of advocacy. With a strong foundation of experience in European projects, the consortium offers diverse perspectives on Human Rights Education (HRE). Additionally, it is supported by six associated partners, including municipal councils and human rights organizations, strengthening the project’s local impact. Through this collaboration, Empower2Act empowers young people and educators to actively defend and promote fundamental rights across Europe.
